T: Put This On is awesome beyond words.  They just released their 4th episode, which is on grooming—something that many menswear blogs tend to neglect.  In our case, it’s for good reason, Andrew went for the better part of two years before he got his last hair cut.

In any case, although I don’t like this episode as much as the first two, it’s pretty darn good.

Also, big ups to our man CB who somehow managed to get his beautiful mug in the video.

We're Famous!

T: Put This On put together a list of the most popular men’s style blogs, ranking them by the total number of RSS followers on Google Reader.  To click the title above to see us on the list!

We’re somewhere near the bottom but like Ricky Bobby said, “If you ain’t last, you’re first!”

If you love us (and I know you do), add us to your google reader so we don’t have to be embarrassed when we go to the next men’s style blogger conference in Nick Wooster’s basement.

Some Great Advice

Via Put This On:

Start by simplifying.

Do you want to know how to start looking better?  Simplify.

Stop wearing clothes with logos, prints and crazy details.

Instead, focus on great basics.  When I say basics, I mean basics.  White t-shirt.  Blue dress shirt.  White oxford.  Blue jeans.  Gray wool pants.  Khaki chinos.  Blue blazer.  Gray suit.  Great boots.  Basic shoes.  Focus on blue, white, gray.  Buy good clothes that fit.

Minimalize.

It’s OK for your clothes to be a simple frame for what’s important: you.

T: We don’t normally post videos on back to back days.  However, all the videos from Put This On are just too awesome for words.  This is their third video and it’s about what to wear at work.  Although I don’t think it’s as awesome as their previous videos, it’s pretty darn good.

If only there was a section to tell my boss to tie his tie shorter…….

The Danger of Outlets

T:  I know a lot of people (mostly women) who do their shopping at outlet malls.  I can also remember going to the Woodbury Commons Outlets during college and never buying anything that I wore more than once or twice. However, I did get lots of stares from Asian tourists because I am a full foot taller than the average Chinese man (I actually just looked it up).

Anyway, I wanted to do a post about outlets but the folks at Put This On did a much better job than I could have a few months ago.  Click the link above to find out where the outlet clothes actually come from and where to find the real “deals.”

White and Blue Shirts

T: Click on the link above for a great article from the folks from Put This On.  They make a convincing argument for only owning white and blue shirts.  They also explain the different occasions for these two wardrobe staples.

T: Above is an incredible video from the folks at Put This On that tells you almost everything you need to know about raw denim.  I think the 500 dollar jeans they show in the video are completely ridiculous but the rest of the advice and collected wisdom on this all-important subject is spot on.  Enjoy!
