guitar10 asked: Great blog guys and thanks for all the help so far. I need your opinion on where to get some slimmer fitting shorts. I'm looking to find some shorts that don't have bagginess on the sides but aren't going to cost an insane amount. Any ideas?
A: I think there are some solid options for you at reasonable prices. Lands’ End has a slim fit chino short for $35, and J Crew has a number of Club Shorts for about $65 that they describe as having a “narrower leg”. I haven’t tried on either of these shorts, but given the trend towards slimmer fitting chinos, it’s not surprising that the big brands are coming out with slim fit shorts as well.
If neither of these are slim enough and you want your shorts to be as slim as your pants, you could always take an old pair of chinos and have them made into shorts. Just let your tailor know where you want to have them cut and they should be able to modify them for you easily.

I would definitely recommend the Rugby Chino University shorts, especially this seasons’ which does not have the stupid skull and bones stitching. They fit slim and are buttery soft.
